I like the food, the service is ok, but the girls have an attitude. The place is nice and clean. But again the customer service isn't great.

This restaurant fills my sushi void. Since we lost the beloved Ikebana restaurant in Salinas I've been looking for a replacement. This is it. Sure, you have to drive out of your way but it's a great substitute! Food is great. For appetizers you can't go wrong with either the edamame, egg rolls, yakitori, or the gyoza dumplings. Chicken katsu is a great alternative for those who are looking for non-seafood items. Miso soup is good. They have combination meals! Sushi is great. Food is decently priced. Service is mid. It may take a while for the waitress to check on you, and refill your drinks. This is the only reason behind my 4 star review.

Food was great. A little spendy but you definitely get what you pay for. One roll filled me up easy. Ambiance was clean but somewhat cafeteria like. Service was fast but not supper friendly. There is room for improvement but overall I was there for the food and it was fresh, tasty and plentiful. Can't complain.

Well what can I say, first time trying this place and I was very impressed. The decorations leave a lot to be desired but I care more about food, presentation, customer service, and of course taste! Me and my wife decided to try out the softshell crab, shrimp tempura, and spicy edamame to start. The seafood was fresh and the tempura was super crispy. Plus it was still hot when we received it. I chose the Galbi ribs with a miso soup and a Cadillac roll. The miso had generous amounts of Tofu and there was no shortage on grilled onions with my short ribs. My wife decided on a golden California roll and was pleasantly impressed with both the presentation and the taste. The cherry on the top was a Japanese take on a Mexican favorite, the Japanese Chavela was super good, loved every dish and the cost was very reasonable. Looking forward to going back very soon, our waitress Priscilla was super nice and attentive to our table.

Food is ok its not Japan. Service I wasn't there I had take out, my parents had in house service they said it was slow. Ambiance I have ask them: average Everyone ordered dinner plate: Chicken teriyaki + Tonkatsu + Tempura I couldn't go because shio was feeling severe anxiety and had claws in my arm so... I wanted some rolls but that plan is dead plan if you don't go. Chicken was overdone. Chicken's sauce is issue I think in future please do-not add cabbage as something for sit on for food cool on, maybe tomatoes or lettuce. Cabbage wasn't prepared properly it had this bitter after taste. So it destroyed the sauce it made very runny. I made my own sauce at home and saved the meal itself. For people do themselves: Soy-sauce, ginger paste, honey-powder + fruit juice that appeals to you. Tempura overall some was cooked, some was bit raw and then overcooked. I got mix of all three. Tonkatsu was kind of tasty but it was only good thing my mom liked eating she ate everyone's Tonkatsu. I only got three I think I had more but I pretty certain she ate some of mine so did my dad. Other stuff like California Roll and Sashimi are okay to eat just one time I had stay sit with Shio. They forget take out menu once again. Please Ichiban put menu on your page.

All I can say is...come with an appetite! Ichiban used to be a little spot tucked away in the Prune Tree shopping center but the recently expanded. They are still located in the Prune Tree shopping center but have a bigger place to match their giant sushi rolls!! Each roll brought its own unique flavor. The spicy crunch roll, although not too spicy, was balanced with tempura and tuna. The dragon roll had just the right amount of unagi sauce. Beware of the raiders roll because it is spicy. The chef did an amazing job with presentation and our server was very cheerful and attentive. The price of the rolls may seem a little high but the rolls are HUGE!
